Easy-Peasy Burger Cheesey

Pie for supper sounds great, doesn't it?  My kids think so.  They alway get so excited at dinnertime when they see me preparing one of their favorites, Cheeseburger Pie.  This is NOT the healthiest dish in my repertoire, but I'm sharing it with you anyway because it's super easy to make, and even Grayson, my pickiest eater loves it.  I also forgot to take a picture, so you'll just have to use your imagination.

Okay, here's what you need:

• 1 lb. hamburger meat, or chicken if you want chicken pie
• 1 can mixed vegetables
• 1 can cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
• 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
• 2 deep dish pie crusts

1. Now, preheat your oven to 400° while browning meat in a skillet.
2. Drain fat from the meat and stir in soup and the drained vegetables.
3. Pour the mixture into one of the pie crusts and sprinkle cheese over it.
4. Place the other pie crust on the top and cut slits to vent the steam.
5. Bake for 20 min.

That's all there is to it.  This is a great dish to make on nights when you don't feel like making something elaborate, and if you keep meat in the freezer like I do, you can keep the ingredients on hand at all times.

That´s not healthy? :S Sure sounds better than some of the stuff I make on nights I don´t feel like cooking!

Well, the crust is what's so unhealthy! Basically very yummy fat and flour!

Aren't food trends interesting? We NEVER have pie, (apart from the small, frozen(to be thawed and heated), individual commercial meat pies like you get at the footy which Small Boy and his mates eat here unfailingly every weekend thereby rendering me broke from feeding the neighbourhood :-)and I am unsure as to how my family would react at the suggestion. (I just asked Himself and he said he would be interested...his mother used to do that!!) A whole pie here is just an unusual thing. Weird. No reason why. Just fashion I guess. Sure sounds like a recipe even I could manage :-D
