Seep-Ober
In all the hub-bub of Grayson starting school, I never told you guys about a big "first" in Grant's life. Last Friday, he had his first sleepover away from home.
To understand why this is such a big deal, you'd have to know a few things about Grant. He is the kind of kid who loves his own bed. He never naps on the couch, or in our bed, or anything like that. Only his bed will do. For this reason, and also because he is very much a momma's boy, no one has ever invited him to spend the night before.
So Friday afternoon, I loaded up the boys and their suitcases, along with Grant's "Bears" (his blanket), his big dog shaped pillow, and his lullaby cd, and took them all to GaGa and Dado's. Grant felt so big walking up to the door with a suitcase as big as he is, and telling everyone who would listen that he was going on a "seep-ober."

Oh my goodness! He´s so brave! Dorian would never dream of sleeping away from us. :D How did you handle it? Weren´t you a bit nervous that your little guy was having a sleepover?

What a cool suitcase!! Goin to Grandma's....AND appropriate too. Glad he got something special to do in all the 'hub-bub' as you say. How did he cope? The BA has done 'sleep overs' from an early age although funnily enough I can't exactly remember the first one.....they became such a big part of life afterwards. How did Grant go? Is Grayson continuing to thrive at school? Come to think of it, I have so many questions I may just email you! :-)

Grant did so well, it almost made me a little sad! I slept with the phone next to my head in case he needed me in the night, but he didn't. He's always been a little jealous when Grayson has spent the night with people, so I think he felt like he was as big as Grayson. Plus my parents are great with him. I don't know if he would have done as well anywhere else!

He looks a little hesitant in that first photo . . . my two have slept at Grandma's (down the street) several times, but we always pick them up in the middle of the night. My younger one likes to get up in the middle of the night and get into bed with me, so we're not ready for sleepovers yet.
