Off to school

Img_4135

There's my boy, all packed up and ready for his first day of school.  I'm feeling too many things to write right now.  I've been trying for the last fifteen minutes, but what I need to say just won't translate here.

Suffice it to say, I'm a proud, sad, excited, nervous momma.  Everything in me wants to go back to the school and tell them they can't have my baby.  He belongs at home with me.  But, as much as I wish it, that's just not what he needs.  He's out there, testing his wings for the first time, and I have to let him.  But I don't have to be entirely happy about it.

He'll do great. Not everyday, but more days than not!

quite a dapper looking young fellow there. He'll do fine and you will too, once you adjust. I love the new look of your blog.

Sit back and relax!! He looks as though HE will be fine!!!

Mind you, (I know we have school uniforms here in Australia) but I am not sure about the skulls and cross bones... ;)

He looks really happy to be going to school! That's half the battle right there. Why is it harder on the Moms than the kids? I cried when Girlie Girl started Kindergarten last year!

Did you changed your header? It's cute!

Handsome boy looks like he's happy and all ready to conquer the world. Come on mum, get with the programme. ;)

You'll be fine. :D

our sweet baby boy!! He looks so grown up!

You will be fine. Just think of the kind of mom you will be able to be when he gets home and you've had 4 hours to take care of "stuff". And think of what kind of kid he will be when he's had 4 hours of friends, stimulation and play!

It's hard now, but soon enough the two of you will be reaping the benefits of your decision because you made a good one!

I'm really excited for him -- and for you. Our second daughter missed her big sister, but she uses the time to explore a few things on her own terms. School has been good for Smedley, for for the rest of us, too.

Laurie, Grant has had the biggest adjustment of us all. He spent all his time following Grayson around, so now he has to figure out how to be his own leader. It'll be good for him I'm sure.
